We start out each week with an ABC Find It from 1+1+1=1. While we search for the matching images, we discuss the pictures and other words that start with the letter of the week. We also use Letters of All Sizes uppercase and lowercase handwriting worksheets from The Measured Mom. I include these in a binder with number writing worksheets from Confessions of a Homeschooler and a sheet with his name on it that I created. Each page gets its own sheet protector so he can practice writing with a dry erase marker.
This week we used Royal Baloo’s Zoomin Moving Alphabet O is for Oil Truck printable pack. My little guy loves these worksheets. We modified the “How man trucks” page to practice our listening and math skills by acting out word problems using the trucks. Ex: 4 trucks went out for delivery, but more oil was needed so 3 more trucks hit the road. How many trucks are on the road now? 9 trucks went our for delivery, but three trucks weren’t paying attention and got into a crash. How many trucks are on the road now?
Since we’ve been discussing our vacation plans lately, I thought O is for Ocean would also be a great theme this week. We used 3 Dinosaurs’ preschool pack and then painted an ocean scene with watercolors.
